Creating in Color: Guia’s First Year Behind the Stories

Palette Talks | Creating in Color: Guia’s First Year Behind the Stories

April 10, 20264 min read

Some stories are told in captions, campaigns, and carefully curated grids, but behind every post is a person bringing it all to life.

For this edition of Palette Talks, we’re featuring Guia, our Social Media Manager, as she reflects on her first year at Culture to Color®. From turning simple ideas into meaningful content to finding inspiration in everyday moments, her journey has been one of growth, creativity, and learning to trust the process.

Over the past year, she’s not only built content. She’s helped shape stories, connect with audiences, and bring color into the brand in her own way.

Here’s a closer look at her journey, one post, one idea, and one moment at a time.

🔥 What’s one moment this past year that made you feel, “This is why I love what I do”?

There are a lot of small moments, but one that stands out is when I see an idea go from a simple thought to something people actually engage with and connect to.

It’s that feeling when a post doesn’t just look good, but feels right. When it resonates, tells a story, or sparks a reaction. That’s when I realize this is more than just posting content. It’s creating something meaningful.

🔥 What does a “day in your life” as a Social Media Manager look like?

A typical day starts with a lot of scrolling but with intention. I look through different pages, brands, and content to find inspiration or pegs that catch my attention. When something clicks, I usually think, “This will work,” and start building from there.

From there, it’s a mix of planning, creating, and refining content, making sure everything is not just visually appealing but also aligned with the message we want to communicate. No two days are exactly the same, which keeps things exciting and creative.

🔥 What’s your creative process when building content?

My process usually starts with inspiration. I take time to observe what’s out there, what’s working, and what catches my attention.

From there, I try to translate that into something that fits our brand. I don’t just copy trends. I like adapting them in a way that feels intentional and aligned. Once I have a direction, I start building the content piece by piece, making sure everything flows visually and message-wise.

🔥 What’s one post or project you’re especially proud of, and why?

One project I’m especially proud of is the Christmas Traditions Around the World series. It started from a simple conversation Bibi and I had one evening, and the ideas just flowed naturally.

What made it special for me was how organic the process felt. It was creative, collaborative, and meaningful, and seeing it come to life exactly how we imagined it was really fulfilling.

🔥 How do you stay consistent and avoid burnout in a fast-paced content environment?

I’ve learned that consistency doesn’t mean doing everything all at once. It’s about pacing yourself.

There are days when ideas flow easily, and there are days when they don’t, and I’ve learned to be okay with that.

I also make sure to step back when I need to, because forcing creativity usually doesn’t lead to good results.

Having a routine and giving myself time to recharge helps me show up better and more consistently.

🔥 What’s your “after work” routine that helps you recharge?

After work, I usually go to the gym. It’s my way of resetting physically and mentally.

No matter how the day went, I always feel better after. It helps me clear my mind, release stress, and come back the next day feeling more energized and ready to create again.

🔥 If your journey this past year had a color palette, what would it look like and why?

Yellow would definitely be at the center of my palette. It represents growth, positivity, and energy — all the things I’ve experienced in my first year.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been a bright and meaningful journey. Yellow reminds me to stay optimistic, keep creating, and enjoy the process along the way.

One year in, and it’s been a mix of figuring things out, building routines, and learning what works both creatively and personally.

From finding inspiration in everyday scrolling to turning ideas into content that connects, Guia continues to grow into her role in her own way and at her own pace.

And if this past year is any indication, there’s so much more color, creativity, and storytelling ahead.
